Healing the Wounds That Still Echo

Trauma is not just what happened – it's what still happens inside us as a result of past experiences.

Whether it’s a single shocking event or a long series of painful interactions, trauma can leave lingering effects on our body, mind, and sense of self. It may show up as anxiety, flashbacks, emotional numbness or overwhelm, difficulties in relationships, or a distorted self-image. Sometimes, it’s obvious.

Other times, it hides in plain sight – in chronic tension, avoidance patterns, or low self-worth.

Psychologically, trauma can stem from both “big T” events – such as accidents, war, sexual assault, or life-threatening situations – and “small t” traumas like ongoing criticism, emotional neglect, or bullying. Both kinds can be profoundly damaging, and both are highly treatable.

Types of Trauma I Work With

Over the years, I’ve supported clients with a wide range of trauma-related issues, including:

  • War zone experiences

  • Accidents (car, workplace, sports-related, etc.)

  • Sexual abuse and assault

  • Medical trauma (e.g. life-threatening diagnoses or procedures)

  • Panic attacks and psychotic episodes

  • Childhood abuse and emotional neglect

  • Grief and traumatic loss

  • High-conflict divorce or separation

  • Bullying, or social exclusion

  • Deep-seated issues of self-worth rooted in trauma

No matter how your trauma expresses itself, therapy can help you reclaim your sense of safety, dignity, freedom and self-worth.

Evidence-Based Trauma Treatments

I offer several gold-standard, research-backed treatments for trauma, including:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
A leading trauma therapy that can often produce noticeable results within just a few sessions.

  • Exposure Therapy
Helps you process difficult memories by gradually and safely confronting what has been avoided.

  • Schema Therapy & Imagery Rescripting
Taking care of wounded inner parts + a powerful tool to rewrite painful memories and change the emotional impact they have on your life today.

  • Flash 2.0
A non-intrusive trauma technique without requiring detailed exposure or verbal processing.

These approaches are selected and tailored to your needs, and can be combined with other modalities when helpful.

Why Trauma Therapy is a Passion of Mine

Treating trauma is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

Here’s why:

  • It works – with success rates of 80–90% in established protocols

  • It works quickly – some clients experience significant relief after just one session per trauma

  • It changes lives – freeing people from years of tension, fear, or self-criticism

  • It’s clear and structured – we know what we’re doing, and why

To me, trauma therapy is one of the most effective and hopeful areas in all of psychotherapy.
